Practice Emphasis

Shaina’s commercial construction law practice focuses on representing general contractors and subcontractors through each phase of a construction project, from negotiating contracts and evaluating risk, to navigating through a wide array of construction issues, including project delay claims, construction defect claims, change order disputes, terminations, warranty issues, non-payment claims, and lien and bond claims.

Shaina has experience litigating in both state and federal courts, state and federal administrative courts, and in arbitration proceedings. She regularly represents clients on private commercial construction projects, as well as on state and federal construction projects, including through the claims process against the Texas Department of Transportation and federal agencies.

To stay current on issues affecting her clients, Shaina remains involved in trade organizations, regularly providing education at industry events. She is also an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School, where she teaches Construction Law.
