Brian Carroll Elected as Assistant Editor of Texas Bar Construction Law Journal

The Construction Law section of the State Bar of Texas elected Brian to serve a two-year term as assistant editor of the section’s Construction Law Journal.  After this two-year term, Brian will be eligible to serve as the senior journal editor for an additional two years.

Allen Wilson, as first chair counsel, and Brian Carroll, as supervising attorney, secured a victory on behalf of a large heavy civil contractor against the City of Pflugerville on November 18, 2021. The award included $1,220,546.00 in delay and disruption damages and $289,406.50 in attorney fees and costs. Final Judgment was entered on December 14, 2021, and the judgment was paid in full.

Calvin Cowan Wins “Take Nothing” Judgment for General Contractor

On May 6, 2021, won a take nothing judgment for a general contractor against an owner. The owner sued the contractor for breach of contract alleging incomplete work. The contractor defended arguing that the disputed work was outside the scope of the parties’ agreement. The court denied 100% of the money damages sought and all other claims.
